Witching Hour

I can't believe how busy I've been lately! I finally started my new job, and it's taken up a lot of my time. I really like it though!

Here's a makeup look I did a while ago. I'm not too fond of the picture (I think my facial expression looks a bit strange...?), but I love those eyeshadows. They're all Tick:Tock. 

The green shadow on my lids is called Witching Hour and is quite glittery in real life. I find it so hard to capture glitter in photos! Perhaps I should start filming some short videos of my glittery looks, so that you can really see the sparkle? 

Other than Witching Hour, I used Salvador Dali, Midsummer Night and Four Horsemen. ♥

Midlife Crisis

Tick:Tock Cosmetics has this gorgeous hot pink eyeshadow called Midlife Crisis. I decided to use it as a liner the other day, and... wow. I loved it!

In my opinion, colorful liners are great for spicing up neutral looks. I think I'm gonna wear a lot of bright eyeshadows as liners this spring... Who needs a bunch of liners when you've got plently of eyeshadows and mixing mediums? ;)

For this look, I started by applying some of my LASplash eyeshadow sealer/base (in the same way I would apply a gel liner) and then patted the pink eyeshadow on over top of that base. 

Kett Fixx Crème Foundation - first impression

A little background info for those who might be interested:

My skin has pink undertones and some redness, but I always go for a neutral and/or more yellow toned foundation because I want my foundation to counteract that redness and give me more neutral toned skin. It's just what I prefer. I also find that my body is a tiny bit darker than my face and neck are naturally, which is why my face might look a little darker once I've applied my makeup. I want all of my skin to be the same color, and I find it easier to darken up my face and neck ever so slightly than to make my body lighter. 

I've been wanting to try the Kett Fixx Crème Foundation for ages (ever since I first heard gossmakeupartist rave about it). I finally ordered it in the shade N1 from love-makeup.co.uk. However, N1 was a tiny bit too light on its own, so I bought N3 as well. (N3 is the next shade; they don't do an N2). I chose to buy the refill pans because they're cheaper and I keep them in this cute leopard Z Palette ♥

The lovely gossmakeupartist has also taught me that most foundations we hear about (both drugstore and high end) only contain 12 - 20% pigment, whereas foundations by brands that are geared towards professional makeup artists often contain 50+ % pigment. Kett Fixx Crème is one example of a 50+% pigment foundation, and that's the main reason why I was so excited to try it. I mean, 50% is a lot more than 12 - 20%. And more pigment means you'll need less product to get good coverage. 

I can tell you right now that you only need a tiny amount of this foundation to get great coverage! I applied it all over my face using my sigma F82 round top kabuki brush, and then used my fingers to apply a little bit more over my blemishes and scars. I didn't use any other products. I also didn't do anything to these pictures, except crop them. (I used the same lighting as well... pehaps I'm sitting a little closer to the light in the first picture though? The second one looks a bit darker to me. Oh well, it's as close as I could get it.)

I can honestly say that my first impression of this foundation is amazing! It was so easy to apply and to blend, and the coverage is amazing. Especially considering that I only used a little. I could easily have built up the coverage by adding more, but I didn't feel the need to do that. I absolutely love the finish of it! It looks nice and dewy on my skin. I will need to powder my t-zone though, but I always use powder so that's not a big deal. I can tell that these little pans will last a long time.

I will do a full review once I've worn it enough to really form an opinion about it. I have a feeling that I'm really gonna like this foundation... ;)

FOTD - Blue and green

Here are some pictures of the makeup I wore yesterday. I was trying one of Tick:Tock Cosmetics' new  colored eyeshadow bases - a beautiful blue one called Nebula. I do love a good colored base. Most of the colored bases I own aren't very good, unfortunately, but this one really is! 

This is just a sample, but it'll last forever. You need the tiniest amount!

My perfect red? Chanel Rouge Allure no.105 Inimitable

For someone who's addicted to buying makeup, I have surprisingly few red lipsticks. Actually, up until a few days ago, I just had one (Stila Long Wear Lip Color in Paramour). It was a gift from someone, and it's not a color I would have chosen for myself. So, I didn't have any red lipstick that I enjoyed wearing, and I really thought I needed one. 

Last weekend and found the perfect red lipstick - Chanel Rouge Allure no.105 Inimitable. It's just what I've been looking for all this time! An intense red with very subtle pink shimmer... absolutely gorgeous ♥

Angel kisses

Here are some pictures of the eye makeup I wore when I went shopping with my mom last Saturday. I absolutely love this eyeshadow combo! 

This time I used MOI Cosmetics' Angel Kisses over Fyrinnae's Pixie Epoxy on my lids. I have no idea why, but I find the sparkle in Angel Kisses really hard to capture in photos. It really is very, very sparkly. You can kind of see it in the third picture, the blurry one, but it's so much more intense in real life. I wish you all had it and could look at it right now... I'm loving this shadow ♥

The crease color is Sugarpill's Mochi, blended out using Sugarpill's Tako. I also used a tiny bit of a black eyeshadow from one of my Sleek palettes to darken the crease. The liner I used is MAC's Fluidline in Blacktrack, and the mascara is Max Factor's 2000 Calorie (the waterproof version).

Sugarpill Heart Breaker Palette

Look what finally arrived! I ordered this when Sugarpill had their Black Friday sale. They shipped it really quickly, but, you know, it takes time when something is sent from the US to Sweden. I purchased the Heart Breaker palette, which I've been wanting since the second it was released. I only had one Sugarpill shadow before - a white one called Tako - and the quality of it is AMAZING! Fingers crossed these will be just as good ;)

2AM - Described as a "matte purple with a slightly pearl sheen"

Mochi - Described as a "matte mint seafoam with a slightly pearl sheen"

They included a sample of one of their loose eyeshadows (Birthday Girl) and a huge sticker!

I also ordered a couple of their loose eyeshadows, but that's a separate order and it hasn't arrived yet. (I need the value of each package I order from outside the EU to stay under a certain limit, otherwise I have to pay loads in customs charges... So, yeah, that's why I chose to place two small orders instead of one big one.) I hope the other things will arrive tomorrow!

I can't wait to play with these shadows! Actually, I think I'm gonna try them right now...
