I'll Sleep When I'm Dead

So... you might have noticed that I haven't posted anything in a long time. I've been suffering from a major lack of motivation. I have a lot of looks to post and products to review - a lot of things that I should have done ages ago. It's about time I get back on track!

I did this look a while back and I can't remember what I wore on the rest of my face, but the eyes are all Tick:Tock. I'll Sleep When I'm Dead and Late Night Burger Gnomes to be specific. ♥

A sneak peek at my new Fyrinnae goodies...

Look what I got today ;)

Review: Detrivore Cosmetics May LE Set

I placed my most recent order with Detrivore Cosmetics on the 22nd of May. One month later, on the 22nd of June, I got an email saying that my order had been shipped. Their stated TAT is 1-20 business days, so I can't complain about that. However, once I got the package, I realized that they hadn't been completely honest - the post stamp on the package says JUN 27 2012, and so does the customs declaration form that had been signed by hand. Now, I don't really care whether my package was shipped on the 22nd or the 27th, but it does annoy me that they chose to lie about it, and for that reason I want to mention it in this review. It's a matter of principle more than anything else.

(Click the pictures to see them in full size)

Let's move on to the products. I ordered the May LE set of eyeshadows, three of their permanent eyeshadows and two of their Embalming Tubes (lip balms). I may review the other products another time, but today I'm just gonna focus on the eyeshadows in the May set.

Swatches

The first three pictures below are of all five eyeshadows swatched dry over the e.l.f. Mineral Eyeshadow Primer. In the last five pictures, the shadows are swatched over Fyrinnae's Pixie Epoxy.

From left - right: Baleen, Cetacea, Lividity, Mollusk & Incatiation

Official color descriptions ~ My own color descriptions

"Baleen is a LE emerald green shimmey eyeshadow." ~ A medium green with silver shimmer. Really pretty, but not very unique.

"Cetacea is a dense puplish blue satin eyeshadow. It has blue, purple, red, and pink shimmer." ~ A shimmery blue with a very strong purple shift. This is a very interesting color in my opinion, more so in real life than in photos (the purple shift was difficult to capture). Absolutely beautiful!

"Lividity is a dark pink shimmery eye shadow on a black base. It's very similar in concept to Livor Mortis, but is much more glittery." ~ A very sparkly dark purple. This looks like jewels in the jar and applied over a tacky base. Gorgeous!

"Mollusk is a bright coral  pink satin eye shadow loaded with shimmer." ~ A medium peachy pink with shimmer. Again, really pretty, but not very unique.

"Incantation is a bright gold LE eye shadow with copper, pink, and gold shimmer." ~ I definitely wouldn't call this a bright gold... I'd say it's a camel color full of pink shimmer. This is, whithout a doubt, my favorite eyeshadow of the bunch. I've never seen anything like it before, it's amazing!

My thoughts

I think all these eyeshadows are beautiful - especially Cetacea, Lividity and Incantation. Unfortunately, I had a reaction to Cetacea, so I don't think I'll be able to wear it. I tried it once and got this red, itchy rash exactly where I put it. I've never had a problem with any other Detrivore shadows though, I'm probably just oversensitive to something in this one (the ultramarine, perhaps?). These shadows definitely need a tacky base to reach their full potential; I wasn't too impressed with them ober the e.l.f. primer alone, but over the Pixie Epoxy - WOW!

Would I repurchase this set?

I would definitely repurchase Lividity and Incantation, and I would repurchase Cetacea if I wasn't oversensitive to it. I'd probably not repurchase Baleen and Mollusk, simply because I own a lot of shadows that are quite similar to them. But if you don't have any similar eyeshadows, I think they're a good buy.

Where to buy

You can purchase this set at detrivorecosmetics.net, more specifically here. The price is $17.

My June GlossyBox (Sweden/Sverige)

Today I finally got my June Glossybox. I started subscribing to GlossyBox back in December, so I have got quite a few boxes, and I can honestly say that I love Glossybox! I thought I'd show you what I got this time...

A texturising sea salt spray by Toni & Guy

A trial size shower gel and a perfume sample by Puma

A water-resistant face cream with spf25 by Odd Molly

A skin perfecting primer with salicylic acid by Murad

Two trial size bottles of Moroccan oil

Jag fick egentligen en flaska original-Moroccan Oil och en flaska av deras lightversion, men jag tycker bättre om Moroccan Oil Light så jag bytte till mig en andra flaska från mamma.

Well, I actually got one bottle of the original Moroccan Oil, and one of their light version. I just prefer the light, so I gave my mom my original one and she gave me her bottle of light in return.

This is probably the first time I've been disappointed with a GlossyBox; they've already sent me Moroccan Oil samples. Don't get me wrong, I do like Moroccan Oil, I just think it's a bit pointless to include the same product in two different boxes. The main reason why I subscribe to Glossybox is that I want to try new products - I don't feel the need to try the same product several times. So that was a little disappointing, but overall I'm really happy with this box as well :)

Step-by-step: Light blue & bronze!

I like it when other bloggers do step-by-step tutorials, so I thought I'd do more of them. Let me know if you like them :)

All the eyeshadows I used for this look are by Tick:Tock Cosmetics

So, let's get started!

1. I primed my lid with UDPP, placed a piece of tape from the outer corner of my eye to the end of my eyebrow, and applied a little bit of Fyrinnae's Pixie Epoxy to my lid and crease:

2. I patted on the first eyeshadow, Run Run Rudolph (LE), to the outer third of my lid and to my crease:

3. I placed my second eyeshadow, Jack Frost (LE), on the middle third or my lid:

4. I placed my third eyeshadow, Frozen in Time, on the inner third or my lid:

5. I blended the colors together:

6. I used another eyeshadow, Brit's First Time, to blend out the crease color. I removed the first piece of tape and placed a new piece a little bit below the first one. I filled in the area between the tape and Run Run Rudolph with a green eyeshadow called O, Christmas Tree (LE). I applied the green eyeshadow with a damp brush because I wanted maximum color payoff:

7. I lined the rest of my lower lash line with Frozen in Time, also applied with a damp brush:

8. I lined my upper lash line with a combination of black eyeliner and eyeshadow:

9. I curled my lashes, applied some of my W7 Oh So Waterproof mascara and some false lashes by Ardell (no.305). I also lined my waterline with my NYX eye pencil in Emerald City:
