My perfect red? Chanel Rouge Allure no.105 Inimitable

For someone who's addicted to buying makeup, I have surprisingly few red lipsticks. Actually, up until a few days ago, I just had one (Stila Long Wear Lip Color in Paramour). It was a gift from someone, and it's not a color I would have chosen for myself. So, I didn't have any red lipstick that I enjoyed wearing, and I really thought I needed one.

Last weekend and found the perfect red lipstick - Chanel Rouge Allure no.105 Inimitable. It's just what I've been looking for all this time! An intense red with very subtle pink shimmer... absolutely gorgeous ♥

Angel kisses

Here are some pictures of the eye makeup I wore when I went shopping with my mom last Saturday. I absolutely love this eyeshadow combo!

This time I used MOI Cosmetics' Angel Kisses over Fyrinnae's Pixie Epoxy on my lids. I have no idea why, but I find the sparkle in Angel Kisses really hard to capture in photos. It really is very, very sparkly. You can kind of see it in the third picture, the blurry one, but it's so much more intense in real life. I wish you all had it and could look at it right now... I'm loving this shadow ♥

The crease color is Sugarpill's Mochi, blended out using Sugarpill's Tako. I also used a tiny bit of a black eyeshadow from one of my Sleek palettes to darken the crease. The liner I used is MAC's Fluidline in Blacktrack, and the mascara is Max Factor's 2000 Calorie (the waterproof version).

Sugarpill Heart Breaker Palette

Look what finally arrived! I ordered this when Sugarpill had their Black Friday sale. They shipped it really quickly, but, you know, it takes time when something is sent from the US to Sweden. I purchased the Heart Breaker palette, which I've been wanting since the second it was released. I only had one Sugarpill shadow before - a white one called Tako - and the quality of it is AMAZING! Fingers crossed these will be just as good ;)

The gorgeous shadows... ♥

Acidberry - Described as a "vibrant lime green [...] matte with slightly pearl sheen"

Velocity - Described as a "vibrant matte royal blue"

2AM - Described as a "matte purple with a slightly pearl sheen"

Mochi - Described as a "matte mint seafoam with a slightly pearl sheen"

They included a sample of one of their loose eyeshadows (Birthday Girl) and a huge sticker!

I also ordered a couple of their loose eyeshadows, but that's a separate order and it hasn't arrived yet. (I need the value of each package I order from outside the EU to stay under a certain limit, otherwise I have to pay loads in customs charges... So, yeah, that's why I chose to place two small orders instead of one big one.) I hope the other things will arrive tomorrow!

I can't wait to play with these shadows! Actually, I think I'm gonna try them right now...

Step-by-step: Chrome

I posted this picture the other day:

Today I thought I'd show you how I did the eye makeup, step by step :)

Clean eyelid

I applied a silver colored primer to the lid area...

...and a blue primer above the crease.

To cut my crease, I drew a sharp line with a deep blue shadow slightly above my natural crease.
I applied some more of the blue eyeshadow towards the outer corner of my eye.

Using a small eyeshadow brush with a little bit of that same blue eyeshadow,
I started blending out the upper part of the crease color.

I applied a silver eyeshadow to my lid.
(And made sure to keep the line between the lid and crease looking sharp.)

I applied a mint eyeshadow to the inner corner of my eye and to the lower lash line.

I wanted a more cat eye like shape. So, I applied some moisturizer to a cotton round, folded it, and used it to remove some of the eyeshadow at the outer corner of my eye.

I used a white eyeshadow to further blend out the upper part of the crease color and, at the same time, highligt my brow bone.

I applied some black liner to the outer half of my lash line.

I applied some white eyeliner to my waterline. And, last but not least, I curled my lashes and applied two coats of black mascara to my upper lash line (only one coat on the lower lash line).

False lashes would look great, but I didn't feel like applying them this time ;)

MOI Mineral Cosmetics/Face of the Night

Last night I was playing with some gorgeous makeup by MOI Mineral Cosmetics

Taking good pictures of makeup in Sweden during the winter is a challenge to say the least, there's almost no daylight... I really wish you could see how intense these colors are in real life!

I used a lovely orange eyeshadow called Jack'O that I bought a long time ago... sometime last year I think. I believe it was part of a Halloween Collection (I'm sure Holly will let me know when she sees this). I also used a shadow called Wake the Dead that is described as "Dust Grey in the jar but when you foil (wet) the true copper beauty unfolds". As you can see, it looks really coppery on me even though I used it dry.

The golden shadow in my inner corner is not released yet, but I'll let you know when it is... it's  absolutely gorgeous. It could really use a tacky base though, which I didn't use this time. I'm gonna have to use it over Fyrinnae's Pixie Epoxy soon, and show you how amazing it looks when it has something to really stick to. Thank you so much Holly for letting me try it - I can't wait for it to be released!

Edit: The golden shadow is called Angel Kisses and will be released in 2013. ♥

Lumikki Cosmetics eyeshadow swatches

I got these shadows a long time ago... I can't remember exactly when, but it was when I lived in my old apartment so it's at least 10 months ago. I was buying tons of makeup at the time, and I still haven't tried some of it (yes, I'm embarrased to admit it). Anyway, I happened to see the most amazingly beautiful eyeshadow on Etsy today - and it was by Lumikki Cosmetics. It reminded me of the eyeshadows I'd already bought from them. And, I promised my friends in NTMS to swatch all of them asap ;)

The following eyeshadows are all swatched over Concrete Minerals ElectricEye Primer (which, by the way, I'm not very fond of).

Marshmallow - Canary - Fairy Dust - Petticoat

Fairy Dust - Petticoat - Jersey Shore

Jersey Shore - Turkish Delight - Boojie

Labyrinth - Peter Pan - Green Knight - Freyja

Green Knight - Freyja - Nazareth - Tinwoman - Morticia

Tinwoman - Morticia - Victorian Gold - Irish Gold

In my opinion, the Concrete Minerals primer really didn't do them justice, so I decided to swatch four of my favorites over Fyrinnae's Pixie Epoxy instead. Just to show you how much of a difference a good base can make...

Freyja - Nazareth - Tinwoman - Morticia

And some close-ups:

Freyja and Nazareth

Tinwoman and Morticia

Like most shimmery and glittery eyeshadows, they look so much better over a tacky base.

Out of these, Nazareth really stood out to me in terms of opacity. Even without primer, it goes on perfectly even and opaque (which is pretty rare, especially for really bright and strong colors).

Freyja, Tinwoman and Morticia are even sparklier than they appear in the photos. Morticia will make an awesome liner!

Lumikki Cosmetics are having a 20% off Christmas Sale at the moment (until December 22), so definitely check them out here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/lumikkicosmetics.

I bought some brushes today...

I bought these brushes in a store that sells art supplies. They're not intented to be used as makeup brushes, but I have a feeling they'll work just as well with makeup as with paint. I put an eyebrow pencil next to the brushes in the first picture so that you can see how tiny some of them are in comparison! I can't wait to try these...

Tick:Tock Cosmetics - Made in the 80s

Tick:Tock Cosmetics will soon be launching this gorgeous lip gloss called Made in the 80s. As one of their models, I got to try it out before its official release, and let me tell you - it's AMAZING!

The color is described as "a super bright, in your face purple with aqua sparkles". On me, it leans pink, but on Elizabeth (one of the owners of Tick:Tock) it's definitely a purple. I guess it depends on your skin tone. The color really is very intense, even more so in real life than in pictures, but I still find it wearable. I wore it with a gray smokey eye today, but I think it'd look even better with just mascara and black, winged liner.

Even though it's not available for purchase yet, you can check it out here: Made in the 80s by Tick:Tock Cosmetics.

You can really see the aqua sparkles...
